It’s everything pumpkin this time of year and our Thirsty Thursday feature is no exception. There’s nothing better than sipping a cup of warm, delicious hot chocolate on a crisp, autumn evening. This recipe takes that deliciousness to a whole new level. Our recipe makes enough for two so find a favorite someone to snuggle up with and enjoy the Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate together.
Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate
2 1/2 C milk
1/3 C hot cocoa mix
1/4 C canned pumpkin (not canned pumpkin pie filling)
1 t pumpkin pie spice
1/2 t vanilla
pinch of salt
1. In a medium sauce pan over medium-low heat, whisk together milk, hot cocoa mix, vanilla, and pinch of salt.
2. Add pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice.
3. Heat thoroughly, whisking as the temperature rises. When desired temperature is reached, pour into 2 large mugs, top with whipped cream and mini marshmallows. Sprinkle a bit of pumpkin pie spice on top.
