It’s August, so for a lot of kids, that means back to school time. But that doesn’t mean the water fun has to end. A new school year means more homework and study time, so why not incorporate that into pool time?
Tossing a ball in back in the water is a great way to drill academic skill. Start with spelling words. Say one letter, toss the ball to your child, who must say the next, and keep the pattern going. Involve more family members to keep the game interesting. The same activity works for multiplication tables, state capitals, and more. Your kids will brush up on their schoolwork, while at the same time cooling off in the water. It’s a double win!
